Throughout my career as a skater, I had always admired the beautiful sparkly skating dresses at competitions all over the country.  Meticulously bejeweled with Swarovski crystals configured in amazing designs, these dresses were beyond gorgeous.  But as a teenager, I couldn't afford to spend hundreds of dollars on a dress like that.

But I could figure out how to make them!  Of course, they would not be encrusted with designer crystals, but I could design them in all sorts of ways to make them look just how I wanted.

And so I did.
